Columbus, Ohio- The 7th Annual Dramm/OFA 5K Relay/Walk, held July 8, 2006, raised thousands of dollars for America in Bloom, a nonprofit organization that supports the floriculture industry.

Ten teams of runners and a few walkers participated in the event, which was held at Goodale Park in Columbus, Ohio, the morning before the 2006 OFA Short Course began.

Funds raised from runner/walker registration fees, sponsorships and in-kind donations totaled over $6,400.

While walkers took one lap of the course, relay teams competed for first, second and third place, handing off Dramm Watercolors Rain Wands as batons.

Svensson Americas’ team captured first place with a time of 21 minutes and 47 seconds, while Wojo’s Greenhouse’s Hanging Basket Cases team took second with 21:58 and Ball Publishing’s Team GrowerTalks came in third with 24:26.

Winners of the race were awarded trophies and engraved gold, silver, and bronze Dramm Colormark Rain Wands, respectively, at the OFA Short Course’s OFA Awards and Opening Session on July 8.

Each participant received a complimentary relay t-shirt featuring sponsors’ logos and an American flag designed with flowers.

TrueLeaf Technologies’ team members showed spirit by sporting mullet wigs for the race.

Dramm Corporation contributed over $5,300 to the event in the form of hiring a professional event coordination team and providing the t-shirts and other race materials.

Dramm plans to hold the race again, on July 14, 2007, before the 2007 OFA Short Course.
