Manitowoc, Wisconsin- On Tuesday, May 9, Progress Lakeshore, Manitowoc County's economic development agency, held their Annual Excellence Development Awards Breakfast at The Venue at Union Square. Honorable Mention for Excellence in Economic Development was awarded to The Dramm Corporation for their new 98,000 sq. ft. Corporate Headquarters and Production Facility. "We were grateful to be nominated in the category of Corporate Investment and even more please to win Honorable Mention in this category," said Hans Dramm. "It was an honor to be included in the group of nominees of other fantastic businesses in Manitowoc County, all of whom are strong forces in fostering economic growth in our community." The Dramm Corporate Headquarters and Production Facility includes environmentally friendly materials, electric vehicle charging stations, and solar panels. At Dramm's request, A.C.E. used building frame materials that contain up to 74% recycled contents. The building can be completely disassembled and recycled at the end of its life, including carpet that has a 'zero' carbon footprint. The orientation of the building itself allows for natural light and little need for electric lighting during the day. "We're appreciative to everyone for the huge group effort that it was," said Heidi Dramm Becker. Since construction began in April of 2021, Dramm has been able to hire an additional 35 new employees. Dramm stays committed to being a local family-owned and operated business. The Dramm Corporation started in 1941 with John Dramm inventing a product to water plants in the greenhouse quickly and efficiently. He designed the 400 Water Breaker Nozzle, which applied large quantities of water in a soft stream while conserving water. The spirit of innovation and commitment to new ideas and solutions continues today in Dramm's four business segments: Commercial Greenhouse Equipment, Retail Gardening Products, Drammatic Organic Fertilizer, and DRAMMwater for greenhouse water treatment systems. |
